Yvonne Potter is the only child of Maria Rush who has been selling European Antiques and Baltic Amber on Portobello Road for over 30 years. With her mother’s training and support, Yvonne scoured every antique show, auction, car boot sale and flea market with her looking for treasures. It is at these locations that Yvonne was enticed to enter a world were finders were truly keepers. Aged 7, she bought an early 19th Century British silver spoon from her elementary school jumble sale for 15 pence and her mother sold it for her at Lots Road Auctions for £35. Yvonne was hooked.
Little by little, Yvonne saved her pocket money and purchased many beautiful vintage objects. On the weekends while many of her high-school student friends were sleeping in, Yvonne was out on the field and as the sun rose, her backpack getting heavier with all the sparkling goodies and treasures she bought from flea markets in Marseille, Paris, Lille, Henley-on-Thames, Edinburgh, Berlin…
Graduating from Kings College London with a Bachelors Degree in French & German in 1998, Yvonne worked at Maidstone Studios in Kent for Wizja TV, a Polish cable channel. In 2000, she emigrated to Los Angeles where for two years she enrolled at UCLA and obtained a certificate in Entertainment Public Relations. Hard work and commitment granted her a chance to intern within the International Motion Picture Department at the prestigious Rogers & Cowan firm under the supervision of Hollywood heavyweight and EVP, Worldwide Film Marketing & Publicity, Michael Dalling. In time, Yvonne moved on to handle international publicity for various independent motion pictures, short films, film festivals and celebrities including veteran music-man Paul Anka.
Yvonne is a member of BAFTA in New York. She lives with her husband David H. Potter between New York City and the Mid-Hudson Valley.
